Director's Message

We believe that universities should not merely be institutions that generate knowledge, but centers that transform this knowledge into social benefit and shape the future through innovative solutions. With this understanding, our primary goal as the Üsküdar University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is to systematically support the research and development activities conducted at our university and to contribute to bringing the emerging knowledge and technology together with society, industry, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Accordingly, we place great importance on providing accurate guidance to our researchers, mitigating the risks they might encounter in these processes, and standing by them in every area they need.

Our fundamental mission as the TTO is to support the commercialization of scientific knowledge, encourage entrepreneurship, enhance university-industry collaborations, and effectively manage intellectual property rights processes. Thanks to our structure consisting of five modules, we adopt a systematic and holistic approach across a wide spectrum, ranging from supporting R&D activities to fostering entrepreneurship. By responding to demands from both within the university and from our external stakeholders throughout the year, we contribute to transforming knowledge production into a value chain.

To achieve these goals, our office is structured under five main modules. The Training, Promotion, and Awareness Module conducts training sessions, seminars, and information activities aimed at increasing the awareness of our researchers and students. The Supported Projects Module provides information on national and international funding sources and offers consultancy during project application and management processes. The University-Industry Cooperation Module bridges academic knowledge with industry needs, facilitating the development of joint projects and the establishment of sustainable collaborations.

The Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights (IPR) and Commercialization Module provides support for protecting emerging inventions and innovative outputs, managing intellectual property processes, and evaluating commercialization opportunities when appropriate. Lastly, the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Module guides researchers and students with entrepreneurial potential on business model development, company formation processes, and relevant legislation.

While addressing a specific need, each module of BrainPark TTO operates within a mutually reinforcing structure, in full alignment with our institutional goals and the strategic plan of Üsküdar University. Tangible and sustainable outputs have been achieved in areas such as enhancing university-industry collaborations, supporting our faculty members and students in accessing national and international funds, making patenting and commercialization processes more visible and accessible, and expanding the culture of entrepreneurship.

Through the training programs, project consultancies, information meetings, and sectoral collaborations we organize throughout the year, we continue to serve as a bridge between academia and the business world. The experience we gain through this process not only allows us to see our areas of development more clearly but also enables us to plan more effective and strategic steps for the upcoming period.

At the core of these efforts, which we carry out with a strong team spirit as BrainPark TTO, lies the vision of creating a sustainable culture of research and innovation. In line with this vision, we remain committed to further reflecting our university's scientific and technological potential onto society and the economy in the coming period.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all our academicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry stakeholders, and my dedicated team members who work in cooperation with us.
